In honour of International Women’s Day, we’re highlighting our incredible female instructors and managers who inspire us in and outside of the spin room.
We sat down with Sarah Gallagher, Eastwood’s Marketing Manager & Junior Marketer at Blueprint.

What do you love most about yourself
My determination, which enabled me to solo travel throughout South & Central America (dealing with some hurdles lets say) and eventually starting a new life in Vancouver, 7,573 km away from family, friends and everything I had known for the past 20+ years.
What do you love most about your body
Weird one, but it has to be the ginger hair, freckles and good old English rose complexion. As a teenager this was definitelyyy not top of the list, but I’ve learnt to love the fact my hair is different, my freckles change with the seasons and well, fake tan exists for a reason.
Tell us something about yourself we wouldn’t know
I hiked to Machu Picchu having never done a single hike in my life, while wearing shoes that were 2 sizes too big…if I can do it, anyone can do it. Oh and I worked in a kids summer camp in Pennsylvania a few years ago, an awakening for sure.
What’s your favourite place in the city
Basically all of Mt Pleasant & surrounding areas. You’ve got breweries, Tacofino, Nuba, Earnest, Cartems, the dog park in Olympic Village (THE BEST for doggy spotting ) and I suppose, the Seawall is pretty great too.
What charity/cause are you passionate about
Any and all charities that help rehome dogs. Bloody Good Period and all of the period poverty charities doing incredible things, because this shouldn’t be a thing in 2019. Plus the NHS, it’s not a charity but nothing inspires national pride in Brits quite like the NHS does, a totally publicly-funded healthcare system for everyone.
What’s your ultimate female empowerment song
You Got The Love – Candi Staton
If you opened your Spotify, what song would be playing
It’s a musical roulette, anything from Elton John and The Cure to Bonobo, Jessie Ware and Sampha
What’s the best song of all time
Champagne Supernova – Oasis
What females do you look up to in life
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, any female who is actively crushing the patriarchy, and my sister – who is currently campaigning for the criminalization of sending unsolicited pornographic photos.
What are your guilty pleasures
Really really strong cheddar cheese, the Kardashians and chocolate in every form – preferably all together
Who was your biggest inspiration growing up
My mum, sister & grandma who were essentially all my mum wrapped up in one.
What words do you live by
Be the Leslie Knope of whatever you do
